How to Increase your Tip.

Every service professional  want to do a good job and make more money !There are two ways to achieve your goal:



 Increase sales: Tip income is based upon a percentage of what your guests purchase . So higher sales will mean greater tips . Increasing sales is usually  done through suggestive selling and up-selling. Done with sincerity and skill , suggestive selling can be very effective. However , done poorly it comes across as insincere  and manipulative . If you focus on how much money your  guest are spending .you will not focus on connecting with your guests. It is important not to forget that it is that personal connection that determines how your guests feel you have helped enhance their meal . Do not compromise the quality of service by trying too hard to get the sales the guests.

Increase Tip  percentage: you will increase your income if your guests start leaving tips that are a larger percentage of the bill for example, if your tip percentage increases from 10 to 20 percent , you increase your tipped-income off the same sales totals. Although you may not be selling more products , your guests are leaving you 10 percent more than before. Let's take a look at why people tip:

 Make personal recommendations. 

Offer reading material to guests who are dining alone.

Reinforce the guests choice.  Let them know you belive they will enjoy the item.

Ensure all sales are captured which will result in an inaccurate subtotal.

Help guest with their coats.

Invite guest back on specific Day  for a specific reason .

Check immediately for forgotten items.this allows you to stop guest before they leave and return the item.

Show your gratitude regardless  of the tip left.

Quality means that you provide guests and Team member with the kind of personal attention that recognizes each individual's needs and concern in a sincere way . It is the attitude of serving people with gracious hospitality everyday. 

Here is example of quality experience outside the restaurant. Assume that you are staying overnight with a friend. Your friends knows that you have been working hard and want to relax.  When you arrive , you  are shown to your room where you find a clean bed with fresh sheets and a nice bouquet of fresh flowers. Nice you think . However next to the flower , you notice a small basket filled with toiletries and next to the basket , a plate of fresh fruits, crackers and cheese. You read the note that say "relax and enjoy" Through the whole series of events , you finally say, " How Great! This is nice"

Working as Team

Creating quality experience for Guest in your restaurant work the same way. Through a series of events , they finally realize. "HOW GREAT !THIS IS NICE "

Obviously,  you cannot create a series of events alone .you need the help and support of every Team Member to create excellence !here is how it might work :

Let us start at the front door where you personally welcome a group of guests that comes in with a sincere and warm welcome .you chat for a few seconds 

Next , their server comes over to greet them using their name because you shared that information with the server . The server takes their drink order and provides perfect  gracious  hospitality. 

Towards the end of their meal , you come to visit them again and ask if they are going to try one of your excellent dessert you described  with mouth-watering description.  They decide it is a good idea  so you get it bring it to them personally . you could go on with the scenario,  but the point is that you have made this couple feel at home through your sincere actions and commitment  to quality-through just the right amount of personal attention and perfectly executed procedures. Overall , you and your team created an experience they will remember because you made them feel special .
