How to Chat With Bar guests
Ask just about anyone what they look for in a bartender they will tell you good service and good conversation . your Bar guests are looking for you to create a fun atmosphere that’s allow them to relax and interact with people around them .here are some tips to help you to establish a WoW atmosphere in your bar
Be Curious : ask your bar guest general questions to get you to know them better .find out their likes and dislikes and let them known yours as well.
Be a resource: Know the surrounding area and what there is to do . your non regular bar guests more often than not ,are from out of town or new to the area. They depend on the bartender to let them know where the local “HOTSPOTS” are
Knows Current Events: keep up-to-date on what is going on in the news, sports, and entertainment. You don’t have to be an expert. A good general knowledge will make for great conversation and be a good tool in getting your guests to interact with one another as well
Be the M.C. :Initiate the conversation between your guest . if you are introducing yourself to an unfamiliar face, introduce them to some of your regular guest as well . no one likes to be the “odd man out”. Come up with creative ways to involve your bar guests in a conversation
